Makers Luggage Rack - Chrome

A folding rack in polished chrome.

Chrome is the brighter of the two finishes, and it is the one to choose when the rack will be visible rather than tucked away. It reads as a proper piece of guest-room furniture rather than an afterthought.

It does one job properly. Open, it holds a suitcase at a sensible height so nothing goes on the bed or the floor. Durable nylon straps take the weight, and rubber feet keep it steady on hard floors and stop it marking them.

There is a practical hygiene argument too: keeping luggage off soft furnishings is one of the simplest ways to reduce the risk of bed bugs travelling from a suitcase into a bed.

When it is not needed it folds flat for storage, so it lives behind a door or in a wardrobe rather than taking up floor space permanently.

Why you'll love it

• Sturdy chrome frame with durable nylon straps: takes the weight of a packed suitcase
• Folds for compact storage: out of the way when the room is empty
• Rubber feet: steady, and protects the floor underneath
• Keeps luggage off the bed: a practical step against bed bugs travelling in on a suitcase
• Looks like it belongs in the room
