Weavers Cardiff Towelling - Bracken

A warm, earthy towel that hides everything a white one shows.

Bracken is the colour for a bathroom that is meant to feel warm rather than clinical. It sits beautifully against timber and stone, and unlike white it is forgiving about the realities of everyday use.

The pile is 100% ring spun soft combed cotton, and combing is the step that makes the difference. The short fibres and impurities are combed out of the cotton before spinning, leaving a longer, stronger strand. That is why a combed cotton towel stays soft through its life instead of turning scratchy, and why it absorbs so readily.

There are no herringbone borders. Border strips shrink at a different rate to the body of a towel, which is what pulls the edges in and leaves you with something that will not fold flat. Without them, the towel keeps its shape and stacks square on the shelf.

The colour is reactive dyed, which bonds the dye to the fibre rather than coating it, giving better colour consistency across the range and through repeated washing. The hems are double stitched, which is where towels usually start to fray.

At 490gsm the towels have real substance without becoming slow to dry, and the bath mat is a heavier 687gsm, which is what lets it soak up a puddle and still feel good underfoot.

Why you'll love it

• 100% ring spun combed cotton pile: longer, stronger fibres that stay soft and absorb readily
• No herringbone borders: keeps its shape and folds flat instead of pulling in at the edges
• Reactive dyed: consistent colour across the range, and it holds through washing
• Durable double stitched hems: reinforced where towels normally fray
• 490gsm towels, 687gsm bath mat: substantial underfoot, sensible on the rail

Also available in Charcoal, Mocha and Navy.

Care Instructions

Hot wash up to 60°C before first use. This gives the towel its initial shrinkage, sets the tensile strength of the fibres and removes any loom residue or oils.
