The most useful thing in this colourway is the Make-up Face Cloth. Makeup marks are what finish off white face cloths, and no amount of washing brings them back. This one is dyed dark on purpose and embroidered so it is obvious which cloth is meant for the job, which saves the white ones.

The rest of the range is the full Cardiff line-up in charcoal: face cloth, hand towel, bath towel, spa towel and bath mat.

The pile is 100% ring spun soft combed cotton, and combing is the step that makes the difference. The short fibres and impurities are combed out of the cotton before spinning, leaving a longer, stronger strand. That is why a combed cotton towel stays soft through its life instead of turning scratchy, and why it absorbs so readily.

There are no herringbone borders. Border strips shrink at a different rate to the body of a towel, which is what pulls the edges in and leaves you with something that will not fold flat. Without them, the towel keeps its shape and stacks square on the shelf.

The colour is reactive dyed, which bonds the dye to the fibre rather than coating it, giving better colour consistency across the range and through repeated washing. The hems are double stitched, which is where towels usually start to fray.

The towels are 490gsm, substantial without being slow to dry, and the bath mat is 687gsm for a denser, more absorbent surface underfoot.

Care Instructions

Hot wash up to 60°C before first use. This gives the towel its initial shrinkage, sets the tensile strength of the fibres and removes any loom residue or oils.
