Weavers Cardiff Towelling - White

The white towel that stays white and stays square.

Two things go wrong with white towels. They go grey, and they go out of shape. Cardiff is built to resist both.

The yarn is bleached white before weaving rather than after, which is what keeps the whole towel bright rather than surface-treated. And there are no herringbone borders, which is the real cause of a towel that will not fold flat: border strips shrink at a different rate to the pile and pull the edges in. Without them, the towel keeps its shape and stacks square.

The pile itself is 100% ring spun soft combed cotton. Combing removes the short fibres and impurities from the cotton before it is spun, leaving a longer, stronger strand. That is what gives Cardiff its softness for the life of the towel and its readiness to absorb, rather than the surface-soft finish that washes out after a month.

Behind the comfort is real durability. Cardiff bath towels are designed to withstand up to 300 commercial wash cycles, and the hems are double stitched where towels normally fray.

Towels are 490gsm, with the bath mat at a heavier 687gsm for a denser, thirstier surface underfoot. Five sizes, from face cloth to spa towel.

Hot wash up to 60°C before first use. This gives the towel its initial shrinkage, sets the tensile strength of the fibres and removes any loom residue or oils.
