Weavers 220TC Premium Pillow Slip Charcoal

The charcoal slip that still looks charcoal a year from now.

Dark coloured bedding has one failure mode, and it is fading. Charcoal turns grey, and once one slip has gone there is no matching it back to the rest. This one is put through a heat-treated colourfast dye process, which fixes the colour into the yarn rather than sitting it on the surface, and that is what keeps it looking right after many wash cycles.

The fabric itself is the Weavers 50/50 percale, a blend of 50% polyester and 50% cotton. Cotton brings the softness and breathability you actually feel against your face; polyester brings the strength and the easy-care behaviour, so the slip comes out of the wash close to ready rather than needing an iron.

It is a substantial fabric at 155gsm with a 220 thread count per 10cm², woven as a percale, which is a tight, flat weave with a crisp, cool hand rather than a slippery one.

Care Instructions

Give it an initial hot wash of up to 70°C before first use. This tightens the weave, increases its tensile strength and removes any residual loom materials or oils.
